Avaya have announced the end of sale and
support for pre-R10
Avaya IP Office licencing. The affected Software versions include: R6, R7, R8, R9.0 & R9.1.
End of sale date was December 8th 2019
What does Avaya`s latest announcement mean for you?
This does not mean that your telephone system stopped working on December 8th however, if you are using an
Avaya IP Office that is running on version 9.1 or older, then you will need to be aware of the following:
- Products running pre-R10.1 software are not supported by Avaya Tier 3 & 4 technical support or for software repairs/patching.

No licences for Avaya IP Office products running pre-R10 software are available following on from the December 8th 2019 deadline. This means that you will not be able to purchase licences to expand your system for ISDN lines, SIP Trunks, IP or 3 party IP licences. The full list can be seen in the link below.

What are your options?
The affected software versions include: Release 6, Release 7, Release 8, Release 9.0 & Release 9.1.
A: Do nothing - Business risk high
Hardware running
pre-R10 software is currently not supported by Avaya, leaving you vulnerable. Licensing is now also unavailable.
B: Buy licences at current software version now for future requirements - High business risk
You will be purchasing licences that you may never use. You will not be able to buy any more licences for the system and you are currently not eligible for
support from Avaya if there is an issue with your system.
C: Buy an upgrade licence - Low business risk
You can buy an upgrade licence and have the system upgraded to the latest or supported level of software.
An upgrade licence is a relatively inexpensive way to bring your entire system up to the latest software version and gain new features by doing so.
Upgrade licence costs:
- £441.00 for systems (Voicemail PRO and advanced software applications)
- £266.00 for systems (Voicemail and basic telephony)

Incompatible hardware
Some hardware is NOT compatible with software above 9.xx and will need to be upgraded or replaced. We would like to point out this affects 46xx/56xx/54xx Series
Handsets.
